Tim Harmston began his standup career in 2002 at an open mic night at Minnesota’s Mall of America (the second largest mall in the world). But his interest in comedy developed year’s prior while sitting around the campfire in his home state of Wisconsin cracking jokes with his father and uncles. His wry sense of humor—which is by turns whimsical, satirical, and abstract—and amiable stage persona helped quickly establish him on the Minneapolis comedy scene.
Just a year after his open mic debut he won Acme Comedy Company's Funniest Person in the Twin Cities 2003 contest. In addition he won a Rusty Nail award at the 2008 Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO, appeared at the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival at the Johnny Carson Theater, and has performed at some of the finest clubs in the country. Tim’s TV appearances include NBC’s Last Comic Standing and most recently Comedy Central's Live at Gotham.
Tim’s act is a unique blend of stories, observations, and one-liners. He unpredictably veers from the dark and demented to the delightfully absurd. Tim also writes and directs his own short films, music videos, and commercials.
He currently resides in Minneapolis.
